We guide you through a ceremony that feels heartwarming, comfortable, and like only what you and your partner need – without the fluff or societal expectations.
This package is designed to help you craft a ceremony that’s deeply meaningful to you and your partner. We focus on personalization, including everything you want and nothing you don’t. You’ll get full veto power over the final text.
Perfect for elopements and micro weddings, this ceremony is written from a secular, feminist, LGBTQ+ inclusive perspective. You’ll have some choices over specific text to include and we keep (you guessed it!) short and sweet.
For folks who don’t want a wedding, but do want to be married! You do not have to make any vows, exchange rings, or have any other pomp and circumstance if you don’t want to. This includes a marriage license signing and that’s it!
After booking, you’ll receive my ceremony guide, which explains the structure of a ceremony and has texts for you to choose from for creating your vows and navigating your ring exchange, as well as some of my favorite readings. You’ll also complete your questionnaires, which will help me get to know you better.
About two months before your wedding, we’ll have a ceremony planning call to talk through logistics and make sure I have everything I need to create your ceremony script. Then, I’ll get to work on writing it.
If you’ve chosen a custom ceremony or added it to your short & sweet package, I’ll be at your rehearsal to make sure everyone has a chance to practice the parts that need practicing and we all feel great about how it’s going to go down.
You get married! I’ll officiate your ceremony, of course. It’ll be a great time focused entirely on the two of you, your guests, and the experience we’ve created together.
We’ll make it officially legal! I’ll take care of getting it filed with the county, so you don’t have to worry about that while you’re on your honeymoon.
A wedding ceremony that’s exactly what you want it to be
Having a ritual that is super personal to you and your relationship is so meaningful for you and the loved ones you include in your wedding day. We will create your ceremony together from scratch, which means we can include (or exclude) anything you’d like.
Customized to suit you perfectly
The ceremony that I’ll write for you will incorporate your love story along with any readings, community pledges or group participation, and mini rituals, such as a handfasting, ring warming, or unity cocktail, that you would like to include. Every word is chosen just for you, using what I’ll learn about you through our conversations and your responses to detailed questionnaires.
You’ll have full veto power over the script
Once it’s written, you’ll have the opportunity to review the ceremony script, request changes, and approve the final text – so you’ll know you’re going to love it!
Rehearsal is included
I’ll be there to get all the standing, sitting, and walking figured out, as well as give you all of my best tips for a smooth ceremony.
A modern, secular ceremony written from a queer perspective
Which means your wedding will be free from references to gods or religious beliefs, there will be no patriarchal traditions like being “given away” or vowing obedience (ew), and it’ll use inclusive language by default.
Your choice of words for the most important moments
Though this ceremony won’t be fully customized, I believe that you should get some say in the words that are said! I’ll give you some options to pick from for the declaration of intent (aka the “I do” part) and the ring exchange. You can also choose any vows that you’d like – either from my collection, something you’ve found elsewhere, or vows you write for yourselves.
Rehearsal optional
Want to get the pre-wedding jitters out? A ceremony rehearsal will help you feel confident and ready for the most important moments of your wedding day.
Fun fact:
Washington state only requires that you declare or affirm your desire and intention to marry one another in the presence of an officiant and two witnesses. You do not have to make any vows, exchange rings, or have any other pomp and circumstance if you don’t want to. And since we support y’all getting married in whatever way feels best to you, if that way is answering one question and signing some paperwork, we will gladly facilitate.
Pick a spot for us to meet:
Bring your marriage license, photo IDs, and two witnesses and we’ll get you hitched without all the fuss. It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete the paperwork, which I’ll complete and file with the county for you.

Submit your inquiry below and we’ll check our calendar to make sure we’re available! Then, we’ll reach out to schedule a complimentary discovery call.
We’ll meet on Zoom to see if the vibes are right, talk about your ceremony vision, and get all of your questions answered.
We’ll help you choose the right package and review all the details together. Sign your contract, pay your retainer, and we’ll start planning your ceremony!
Custom or Short & Sweet packages can be booked up to six months before your wedding date. If you don’t have a firm date yet, please check back once you’ve confirmed your venue, unless your date is flexible around my schedule.
Due to the number of inquiries we receive, we do not hold dates. If you’re interested in planning with us, inquire now so that we can get your no-obligation consultation on our calendar.
It depends on what I have planned in my personal life, but it’s possible! A $500 surcharge will be added to my fee as compensation for giving up time that I would have otherwise spent with my loved ones.
As someone who lives in an immunocompromised household, I take COVID very seriously. I am fully vaccinated and will continue to get any and all recommended booster shots. I will also wear a mask while I officiate your ceremony, unless we are outdoors with plenty of airflow.
Probably! Rehearsal facilitation is included in the Custom Ceremony package and can be added on to the Short & Sweet package, subject to my availability. Since I sometimes officiate more than one ceremony in a weekend and I also plan weddings, I might not be able to attend if the time conflicts with another wedding on my calendar.
It depends on where and when your wedding is happening. Due to COVID, I am not currently accepting any weddings that would require me to fly. And, sometimes I have more than one wedding in a weekend. So if you’re getting hitched somewhere that’s less than 5-6 hours’ drive from Seattle, I’m in, as long as my schedule allows!
Yep! We are thrilled to have marriers of all genders, identities, and relationship configurations as our clients. As well as folks of all body sizes, abilities, skin colors, ethnicities, countries of origin, religious beliefs or lack thereof. Basically, we welcome everyone!
Cindy went above and beyond in personalizing each aspect of the ceremony.
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect guide for our special day. Cindy went above and beyond in personalizing each aspect of the ceremony, infusing it with elements that were deeply meaningful to us as a couple. What she wrote was not only heartwarming but also beautifully captured the essence of our personalities and the love we share.
Despite encountering a couple sound issues, Cindy displayed an incredible ability to adapt seamlessly, ensuring that the flow of the ceremony remained uninterrupted. At the reception, several of our guests mentioned how impressed they were by the ceremony and Cindy’s officiating.
We wholeheartedly recommend Cindy to any couple (especially queer couples) looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled professional to officiate their wedding day. Her exceptional organizational skills, unwavering professionalism, and genuine care for her clients make her an invaluable asset to any wedding ceremony. Thank you, Cindy, for making our day everything we dreamed of and more!

Cindy was extremely welcoming, inviting and flexible.
A wonderful experience and a perfect day. Cindy was professional, warm, and earnest in delivering a beautiful and complete ceremony for our wedding. We dropped the ball on searching for an officiant, and despite that, Cindy was extremely welcoming, inviting, and flexible.

She was an absolute pleasure to work with!
Cindy did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job as our officiant! She was an absolute pleasure to work with, she took the time to get to know us and make the ceremony meaningful and personal, and when it looked like the weather might make it dangerous to actually get to our wedding she went above and beyond in making sure there were other options in place (thankfully a precaution that wound up not being needed!). The ceremony itself was just beautiful, and all we heard from guests was what a joyous celebration it was. Can’t recommend her highly enough!

"Best officiant in Seattle!!"
Cindy was the perfect officiant for my elopement. My partner and I wanted a non-traditional and non-religious ceremony and she fine-tuned everything to fit our needs. We were on a time crunch and Cindy was able to accomplish everything with great communication. We requested a hand-fasting and a more spiritual angle, and her ceremony aligned magically. Best officiant in Seattle!!

Nick and Franklin wanted a modern, refined aesthetic that still evoked the warmth and coziness of a Pacific Northwest forest in the fall. Trinity Tree Farm is a working Christmas tree farm nestled in the foothills of the Cascades, which made it the perfect choice for this enchanted forest vibe.
A magical forest vibe can easily lean into whimsy, which we didn’t want, so we also took inspiration from Nick’s Nordic heritage to elevate the design with clean lines and minimalist styles. A big part of that was adding depth with contrast; our main colors were forest green and burgundy, accented with pops of ballet pink. We paired warm wood tables with black chairs and dishes to add drama. But we didn’t leave out the forest in the process! We draped greenery down the center of the tables and above the dance floor to create the feeling of being in the forest.

Jackie and Tracey had a wedding that was so very them that it couldn’t possibly have been for anyone else. They really brought the FUN! From the moment guests arrived, they knew they were in for a fabulous time — because they were greeted by a drag queen handing them a glass of champagne.
The good times continued with a drag performance and an absolutely epic dance party, which was all the better because of their design choices. The bold color palette of navy, coral, and gold brought a vibrant edginess to the day, which was complemented by dynamic and colorful lighting throughout the evening.

Sid and Ren are nerds of the best variety, and when it came to their wedding, they wanted to showcase their favorite interests. It started with their outfits. They decided on full adventurer attire, with capes, corsets, boots, and swords, each topped off with a flower crown.
When it came to decor, they wanted to highlight the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and complement the beautiful trees and flowers at the venue. They chose a color palette of greens and purples, with lots of moss, wood, and live mushrooms! We loved their table assignments – each table was named after a different woodland animal and a beautiful illustration of each animal was set in the center of every table.
One of the most fun things we’ve ever had at a wedding was at theirs: instead of a first dance, they performed a first duel! We called on our theater background and enlisted a stage combat choreographer to design and teach them the fight sequence, which ended with a kiss and a roaring cheer from the crowd! And – you better believe they cut the cake with a sword, too!!

Steph and Lauren dreamed of a warm and cozy early fall wedding that would show off the beautiful gardens at Willows Lodge and incorporate their love of nature. We chose a color palette of rich evergreens, warm earthy tones, and pops of peach pinks and coral. Working closely with our vendor team, we selected peach, sage, and hunter linens accented with copper glass votives.
We opted for loose, organic vibes with the florals, choosing coppery compote bowls to hold our centerpieces and arranging our ceremony florals on the venue’s wooding arbor and wine barrels. We kept the lighting soft and warm, with market lights strung over the reception and paper lanterns lighting the way to the gelato cart for dessert.
Steph and Lauren put their own very special touch on the decor with a custom welcome sign styled as if at the entrance to a national park, and miniature national park signs designating each dining table as a different park.

Juliana and Nicole wanted to create an atmosphere of warmth, ease, and excitement. Their vision was a nature-focused event with saturated colors, cozy spaces, and lots of greenery. Our inspiration for color was a sunset – we included a full range from pinks and oranges to blues and purples.
To create the cozy vibe, we added candles all around, rugs down the aisle, and lounge furniture on the patio, which was used throughout the reception. The centerpieces were nestled into beds of moss, with each table having a signature flower as the main point of the arrangement. That flower was also pressed into the table number.
A colorful floral design was chosen for their invitations and signs to bring it all together. And we can’t skip over our absolute favorite part of this design – “curtains” made of flowers strung together to beautifully filter light into the ballroom.

Andy and Victor came to us with a crystal clear vision for their wedding. They wanted an elegant, glamorous affair – and they wanted every single guest to feel like a VIP at an exclusive club. When we started talking about design, they already had a dress code in mind: they would wear black tuxes, the wedding party would wear all white, and they would ask their guests to arrive fashionably dressed in the colors of the rainbow.
They weren’t particularly interested in live flowers and they wanted to keep the event color palette neutral as well, so we settled on black and white with metallic details. We transformed the ballroom from basic to elevated with floor-to-ceiling black and white draping. White ostrich feathers, gold painted palm fronds, and draped crystals made their centerpieces sparkly but chic.
The tablescapes were on point with black linens, gold flatware, and white plates on top of gold-rimmed glass chargers. We never overlook the importance of lighting in setting the mood – which meant warm uplighting around the room for dinner and then a full-color, club style show for dancing.
