Hire a wedding planner.
No, seriously, I know you think I’m just trying to get you to hire me – which you absolutely can – but the reason you’re stressed the fuck out? Is probably because you’ve never planned a wedding before, you don’t know how, and you’re spending all your free time digging through the massive amount of information and advice (lots of which is wrong) on the internet in an attempt to figure it out.
Did you know that the average couple spends around 10 hours a week for 12-18 months planning their wedding? (And that most of it is done by only one partner?) That’s over 500 hours. It’s literally like taking on a part-time job – without getting paid – in addition to the full-time jobs you probably already have, your hobbies, your social lives, and all the time-sucking chores and errands that are part of adulting.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THAT.
Get your life back. Limit your wed-stress to figuring out who’s on the guest list and what you’re going to wear and dealing with whatever family drama comes up.
If you wanna have a second job, cool! Find one doing something you ENJOY – and then use that extra cash to pay for a wedding planner. Who, by the way, will probably save you some money on the rest of your wedding in addition to preserving your sanity.
Let someone who knows what they’re doing handle all the research, grunt work, phone calls, emails, scheduling, and logistics. Only do the parts of wedding planning you actually want to do – like picking the pretty things or choosing the music.
I promise you we’re worth it. But you don’t have to take my word for it – just ask my clients. =)
